Dr. Ali Khan is a highly respected and accomplished psychiatrist who serves as a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. With a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to mental health, Dr. Khan currently holds multiple significant roles in Texas. He is the Medical Director of Outpatient Services at University Behavioral Hospital in Denton, Texas, and also serves as the Medical Director of Outpatient Services at Medical City Mental Health & Wellness Center in Frisco, Texas.
In addition to his leadership roles, Dr. Khan operates a private practice in Adult Psychiatry at Polaris Behavioral Clinic in McKinney, TX. His comprehensive approach to mental health care and his dedication to his patients have made him a trusted name in the field. Dr. Khan's practice encompasses a wide range of specialties, including General Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Telemedicine, and Medical Leadership, ensuring that he can meet the diverse needs of his patients.
Dr. Khan's illustrious career includes a 14-year tenure as a Psychiatrist at the Veteran Health Administration Medical Center in Dallas, TX. During this time, he also held a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his residency training at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX, which laid the foundation for his extensive expertise and compassionate approach to patient care.

Tai Akindele has spent her career at the forefront of psychiatric mental health care, building expertise across inpatient behavioral health, outpatient psychiatry, and community nursing in both the United States and Canada. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed to practice in both Texas and New York, Tai brings a thoughtful, patient-first approach to every clinical encounter.
Tai’s clinical strengths include comprehensive psychiatric assessment, psychotropic medication management, and therapeutic interventions, all delivered within a holistic, patient-centered framework of care. She is trained in crisis stabilization, risk assessment, and psychoeducation, and brings to each patient encounter the clinical discipline, compassion, and expertise developed through years of experience in high-acuity settings.
Tai currently practices at Polaris Behavioral Clinic in McKinney, Texas and Medical City Mental Health & Wellness Center in Frisco, Texas, where she continues to build a practice focused on reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and improving outcomes for the diverse populations she serves.
Tai’s career has included clinical roles at Oceans Behavioral Hospital, Medical City Mental Health & Wellness Center, Alberta Health Services, and Saskatchewan Health Authority - each experience further strengthening her understanding of the complexities involved in supporting individuals through mental health challenges. She is also a proud member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Association.

Katie Avalos offers a grounded, attuned, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where clients feel supported, understood, and genuinely met in their process during difficult or confusing life seasons. In your work together, Katie draws from a range of evidence-based and relational approaches that she has refined over nearly 10 years of clinical practice with adults navigating anxiety, trauma responses, burnout, identity shifts, and relationship distress.
Katie helps you slow things down enough to understand what’s happening beneath the surface emotionally, cognitively, and in the body.
Therapy with her is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both practical tools and deeper exploration. Katie integrates EMDR, CBT, and DBT-informed strategies with a relational, holistic approach to support emotional regulation, clarity, and self-understanding.
Together, we’ll work toward a steadier internal sense of safety, more self-compassion, and the ability to move through life with greater ease and authenticity.
